Dr. Jerry Leonard grew up in Oklahoma and completed his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Chemistry from Southern Nazarene University, Bethany, Oklahoma. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry for his doctoral studies. While beginning his USAF career Dr. Leonard practiced as a general dentist in Europe and Asia for over 3 years before beginning his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at David Grant Medical Center in Fairfield, CA. His OMFS training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery included focuses on Anesthesiology, General Surgery, Trauma, Hospital Medicine, Plastic, ENT, and Neurosurgery.
Dr. Leonard spent 21 years in the United States Air Force. He was fortunate enough to have worked in Florida, Africa, Panama, England, Korea, Missouri, Illinois, Alaska, Hawaii, and California. His final four years were spent teaching surgical residents and preparing for a career in the military.

After completion of his training, Dr. Leonard wanted to be closer to his family in Northern Virginia. He resides in Ijamsville with his wife, two children, and Boston Terrier. His surgical interests focus on dentoalveolar surgery, third molar removal, dental implants, bone grafting, general anesthesia, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, facial trauma, and facial reconstruction.
Dr. Leonard is board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association.

In addition, he is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. In his leisure time, Dr. Leonard, along with his wife and two children enjoys outdoor activities in the local area.
